19th Italian National Review of Monovarietal Oils

The 19th Italian National Review of Monovarietal Oils of ASSAM Marche recognized our OIL PIANO BIO among the Italian olive oil excellences.

But achieving this is becoming more and more difficult because climate change creates many problems.

In fact, this year was characterized by a hot spring and summer, while during the harvesting period it rained almost every day.

Both factors not only complicated our life but made it very difficult to produce an excellent oil.

For this reason we are doubly happy and proud of the result obtained.

We thank the ASSAM-Marche regional panel for the valuable work it has done and for its constant commitment to the enhancement and promotion of the highest quality single-variety extra virgin olive oil.

Below is the evaluation of the panel test:

“Medium fruity, herbaceous type, with hints of almond and artichoke. Notes of bitter and spicy of medium intensity; herbaceous, almond aftertaste. Yellow color; medium-high fluidity.”

Rated 7.3 out of 9

With this vote, the 19th Italian National Review of Monovarietal Oils recognizes us among the Italian oils of excellence and will therefore be published in the Catalog of Monovarietal Oils 2022.

But what does monovarietal oil mean?

With monovarietal or monocultivar oil we mean an extra-virgin oil produced and obtained 100% from a single variety of olives.

Then there are the blends that start from monocultivars and through a study of the organoleptic properties of the various cultivars they are able to be rounder and more harmonious and therefore capable of responding to different consumer needs.

If the monovarietals therefore constitute the maximum expression of typicality and territorial peculiarity, the blends are the expression of a market, a taste and a research in constant evolution.
